EL NATURAL

Today, I decided to keep it really basic. I'm not one for extremes; I tend to like things that are mostly on the DL. It is usually due to the fact that I see pieces that I know will work with my wardrobe throughout the seasons. I am in love with the nude colors and feel like it is such an easy-breezy type of statement.

The moment I laid eyes on this sheer button-up, I knew it had to be in my closet. They have "cold shoulders" which is basically the term to describe cutouts around the shoulders. I have always wanted a top like it, but could never find "the one." But lo and behold, I find this treasure at Windsor (of all places) and fell in love. It is a nude, almost mauve, color with cute lavender buttons. It also has an asymmetrical hemline, making it that much cooler.

I paired them with my new favorite pair of jeans--these mid-rise skinny flares. They have a nice faded look on them, creating that almost-vintage feel. Not only are they flared, they make your BEHIND look AMAZING. They hug your bum like no other and it seriously is the best feeling. I've always been a fan of bell bottoms and I am super glad that they're back in season. I can't wait to wear these out all the time!

To sneak a peek at to what was underneath my flares were these beautiful babes--the Jeffrey Campbell Foxy. I wanted to make the nude theme more cohesive with my taupe suede Foxys because they are super comfortable and very easy to walk in. I recommend getting them because they go with everything and with summer coming around, I'm sure they will make appearances more throughout the upcoming seasons!

For accessories, I'd like to introduce you to some of my everyday finger swag! From left to right: vintage diamond ring my aunt gave me, Jewelmint's Sweetheart Rose Ring, two finger Gypsy ring, and my favorite hinged armor ring. I am seriously obsessed with every single one of them. I wear the vintage ring every day and I have an gnarly tan line because of it. After an unfortunate mishap dealing with my boyfriend stepping on my very favorite Sweetheart Ring (in gold), I had to suck it up and deal with it being lost forever. But Jewelmint rereleased an entire new set of the Sweetheart rings; the set included the original gold ring, and as an added bonus, they created a rose gold and silver version. So I snatched up the rose gold one and have been in love ever since! I also ordered the gold one to replace my old one, but found that I loved the rose gold one even more. My roommate decided to buy the gold one off me, so I'm still a happy camper. The two finger Gypsy ring is a new favorite of mine. I saw it on Vanessa Hudgens when she went to Coachella this year and it was totally calling my name. It basically goes with everything and adds an eclectic vibe to every outfit. As for my hinged armor ring, this baby is definitely a show-stopper just by the looks of it. It's a versatile piece and I'm glad it is in my possession.

So that's my OOTD! Excuse the mess! I have no fancy places to take pictures in NOR do I have a fancy camera to take pictures WITH! Little updates with me: it turns out I got all 5 of my internships! I had to choose one...so I'll be interning with the Earth Resource Foundation this summer! Go check them out if you have the chance! In other news, I'm graduating in less than a month and I have yet to find the perfect graduation dress! I'm stressing out! If you have any suggesting, send them my way! I'd love to hear from you!

BEAMING

I went to 5 interviews the past 2 weeks and I officially got 4 of them. HOLLA AT CHA GIRL.  I made my decision to intern for an organization that provides environmental awareness by means of research and  resources.  I start in the summer and I can't wait.

In other news, I am yet again obsessed with vintage graphic tees.  Time to hit up thrift stores for the gems.  This one is so particularly simple and I think that's why I was so drawn to it.  Although I haven't seen all of the Star Trek episodes, I know that this quote was never really said in any of the episodes or movies.  Interesting, ain't it?  I can't wait for Star Trek 2 to come out!  (Chris Pine...droooool.)  Trust me, I still love my Star Wars, but I won't hate on Star Trek either.

So my camera is totally busted, and I didn't get to film much before it decided to FAIL on me.  I'm saving up and eyeing a new camera, which I'm hopefully (let's say "definitely") getting this month.  Besides, I need one before I graduate to capture all last-minute moments.  I captured one weekend with my boo, K, and here's what went down.

I've been craving some spicy tuna don.  About to head out and get some.  GET IN MY BELLY.

I'm out.

ZEN ON MARS

My roommate is one funny gal.  She was playing her flute while my other roommate played the guitar when she suggested we sing that one song from The Little Mermaid.  Here it is.

ROLLING OUT OF BED

I think work on Sundays deserves a more casual and just-rolled-out-of-bed look.  After all, Sunday is the Sabbath day.  I wanted to get some errands done before my shift, but that was a complete fail.  I watched the last episode of Sherlock season 2 and cried my eyes out.  I think everyone should watch that show, PRONO.  It really is an amazing show.  It's on BBC and season 3 won't be aired until 2013, but I am clearly digging the fact that each episode is technically the length of a movie.  But there's only 3-4 episodes a season, so I guess that's the downfall.  But c'mon, each episode is jam-packed with action, adventure, and some majorly witty comments that I wish I had thought of myself.

Keeping this outfit casual was easy with this awesome flowy cardigan.  I call it my Jedi robe.  It's pretty much baggy all around and slips off your shoulder without trying to hard.  I love how long the front parts are because they just make the outfit look effortless.

I am really enjoying the whole scarves-as-turbands trend.  It gives me an excuse to buy more scarves.  I kept my accessories minimal because I wanted the main focus to be on the turband.  But seriously, can you believe that this is actually a full-blown scarf?  Forget about throwing your scarves into your "just-for-winter" clothes bin.  Use them all year round with this easy peasy tutorial!

When my mom saw this shirt, she said to me, "My poor baby, are you that poor that you can't afford shirts without holes in them?"  She was joking of course, and I gave her my best HAR HAR HAR impression. I like vintage looking tees, I am a total sucker for them.  I am also loving the tie-dye detail on it too.

I wasn't in the mood for skinny jeans, but I still wanted to keep my legs covered because my shift ran into the night.  Legs don't look cute with goosebumps.  I threw on some black pull-on flares.  Since I just got off work, I already took off my flip-flops.  Hmm.  I just realized I haven't showed you my shoes in my posts.  I'll make sure my feet are all dressed up next time!  My shoe collection needs a little love too.

I hope you enjoyed the OOTD.  Keep it real homies. -__-

ps. My camera has totally died on me.  I'm saving up to get a new one next one, so my MacBook webcam will have to suffice.
